The 18.9 km long Mehe is a left tributary of the Oste in Lower Saxony . It is located above the federal highway 495 and is used, among other things, for canoeing . The source is located on the Großenhain / Ebersdorf road bridge , the confluence with the Oste is near Brobergen , where the Mehe pumping station, built in 1956, is also located.
Between Dornsode and Alfstedt , the Westerbek flows from the right. Further tributaries are the Wallbeck between Alfstedt and Mehedorf and the Hollener Mühlenbach between Hollen and the north end of Ostendorf .
The Mehe was important for the choice of the coat of arms of the Geestequelle municipality , which shows the watershed between the Weser and Elbe in a river symbol. The rivers Lune and Geeste , which arise in the integrated community, flow into the Weser, while the Mehe into the Elbe.
