Melchior Buchner
Melchior Buchner , also Puchner , Büchner (born January 6, 1695 in Schongau , † September 12, 1758 in Ingolstadt ) was a German painter and plasterer .
Life
In the monastery church of St. Martin in Fischbachau, the 73 wall and ceiling frescoes from 1738 with various motifs - u. a. from the life of Jesus as well as the Saints Martin ( Martin's legend) and Benedict - attributed. In any case, the large fresco above the organ gallery is signed by him. In Fischbachau he worked with the plasterer Thomas Glasl as well as in the Tegernsee monastery on the design of the auditorium (today in the Tegernsee high school ).
The painting Manna - Rain from the Cathedral of Eichstätt (today in the Diocesan Museum Eichstätt ) is by Buchner . In addition, the city views of Ingolstadt from the north and Ingolstadt from the south are known from him.
The painter Franz Ignaz Oefele was one of his students in Ingolstadt .
