Men of War is an American feature film from 1994.

action

Nick Gunar is an ex- mercenary hired by a group of business leaders. His mission: to force the inhabitants of an island to sell their land so that the company can mine valuable minerals . However, the group falls apart on the island: The group around Nick helps the indigenous population , the group around Colonel Merrick and Keefer wants to end the job. A bloody guerrilla war begins.

Location

Most of the film was shot near Krabi , Thailand . Close by, Danny Boyle filmed “ The Beach ” in 1999 with Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead role.

Others

In the film, the actors Trevor Goddard and Catherine Bell meet as adversaries. Also in the series JAG - On behalf of honor , the two play together for several seasons and have a tense relationship.

The uncut version of the film was indexed in Germany until the end of 2015. After a re-examination in January 2016, the film was released in full from the age of 18. There is an FSK 16 version (about 76 minutes running time) and an FSK 18 version (about 85 minutes running time). Uncut the running time is about 100 minutes (see ATV + / ORF 1).
