Merten Schroedter

Merten Schroedter (* 1976 in Zittau ) is a German actor .

Life

Merten Schroedter completed his acting studies from 2000 to 2004 at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin . During his studies he made a guest appearance in 2003 with Claus Peymann at the Berliner Ensemble .

In the 2005/06 season he was engaged under the artistic director Dagmar Schlingmann at the Stadttheater Konstanz . Here he appeared as Chamberlain Marinelli in Emilia Galotti (director: Anna Bergmann ), as Shakespeare's Richard III. (Director: Dagmar Schlingmann), as Max in Zur Schöne Aussicht (Director: Wolfram Apprich ) and as Nick in Who is Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (Director: Christoph Diem ).

Another permanent engagement followed from 2006 to 2010, again under the artistic director Dagmar Schlingmann, this time at the Saarbrücken State Theater . Here he played numerous major roles in theater literature, such as Philinte in Der Menschenfeind (director: Dagmar Schlingmann), Rodrigo in Lulu (director: Christoph Diem), Gregor Samsa in Die Metamorphosis (director: Jörg Wesemüller ), Woyzeck , den Borkin in Iwanow (director : Wolfram Apprich ), Jörgen Tesman in Hedda Gabler (director: Christoph Diem) and Hugo in Die dirty hands (director: Reinhard Göber ).

Schroedter has been working as a freelance actor since 2010. In 2011 he appeared in a production of the Schleswig-Holstein State Theater Schleswig under the direction of Wolfram Apprich as the title hero in Cyrano de Bergerac at the Gottorf Castle Festival. He had other guest engagements at the Theater der Jugend in Vienna (2011), at the Renaissance Theater Vienna (2012), at Kampnagel (2012 and 2013, each with the theater collective “ Kommando Himmelfahrt ”) and in 2012 and 2014 at the Komödie am Kurfürstendamm . In 2015 he appeared in the roles of teacher / servant Vincek in the Christmas production Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken. He also made guest appearances at the Melk Summer Festival (2016) and at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (2017/2018).

Schroedter also appeared regularly in musical productions ranging from opera to musicals and revues to productions with country music . He has made guest appearances at the Komische Oper Berlin (2005), in the Berlin Admiralspalast (2009), in the Bar eines Vernunft (2012) and at the Schmidt Theater in Hamburg (2017) in the musical Heiße Ecke .

Since 2004 Schroedter has occasionally been in front of the camera. He initially worked in various short films, diploma films and theses, later he also took on roles in television productions. In November 2016, he was seen in the ARD series In all friendship - The young doctors in a leading role in the episode. He embodied the likeable undertaker Bernd Müller, who dreams of a professional future as a wedding planner. In January 2018 he was then seen in the ARD series Großstadtrevier, also in a leading role in the episode, as a single father Ulrich Weber.

Schroedter also worked as a speaker for documentaries and radio plays ( SR , rbb ). He lives in Berlin .
