Ulrike Maria Mayer , known as The Mayerin , (* 23. December 1984 as Ulrike Maria Koller in Eisenstadt , Burgenland ) is an Austrian singer-songwriter and psychologist .

Life

Ulrike Koller visited after the elementary school in Wimpassing an der Leitha the high school of the Diocese Eisenstadt Wolfgarten where they in 2003 graduated . She then studied psychology at the University of Vienna , graduating in 2011 with a diploma thesis on The Influence of Tomatis Therapy on Spatial Imagination as a Magistra. After completing her studies, she set up her own practice.

From 2006 to 2011 she worked as Mia Koller lead singer of the group BandWG with which they, among other things, entitled 10 seconds luck at the ORF telecast Good morning Dusseldorf , the Austrian preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest 2011 , took part and as the opening act of I + Me , Silbermond and July performed.

When she got married in 2016, she changed her family name from Koller to Mayer, at her wedding she sang the song she wrote Between Heaven and Earth for her husband and was encouraged to make music again. With her debut album Sternschnuppn , she entered the Austrian album charts under the stage name Die Mayerin in March 2018. The ballad So wias is ( As it is ), she devoted her late grandparents, for the video for the song were the actors Gertrud Roll and Erich Schleyer front of the camera. Mayer writes the lyrics for her songs, sung in dialect , and composes them together with her guitarist Alexander Sieber or her Berlin producer Marcus Gorstein. The artist name “die Mayerin” is derived from her nickname.

In July 2018 she could be seen on ORF on Starnacht am Wörthersee and in January 2019 at Wenn die Musipiele -Winter-Open-Air . In June 2019 she was on stage at the Danube Island Festival . In September 2019, Mayer was represented at the ORF Starnacht from the Wachau , and in December 2019 on the ORF program Magic Christmas in the Land of Silent Night .

At the end of March 2020 she released the single Tanzen im Regen from the album Libellen . For the album she worked again with her former colleagues Markus Weiß and Bern Wagner of the band WG . In June 2020 she presented Tanzen im Regen as part of the ORF program Austria blooms - Nature in the Garden and in July 2020 Daughters of Eden in the ORF / MDR program Stars am Wörthersee .

Mayer is married and has two children (* 2012 and * 2014). She lives in Wimpassing an der Leitha in Burgenland .
