Micaela Widmer (born August 11, 1987 in Calgary , Alberta , Canada ) is a Swiss-Canadian skeleton athlete .

Micaela Widmer began playing skeleton in 2004 and competitions in 2006 and was a member of the Canadian national team from 2009. Her first race in the performance area, she denied at the Canadian Championships in 2006, where she was 13th. In 2006 , she competed in her first America's Cup races in Lake Placid and finished 12th and 18th. In 2008 , Widmer finished seventh in Park City for the first time and placed in the top ten.

The first major event was the 2008 Junior World Championships in Igls , in which Widmer finished eleventh. In the 2009/10 season Widmer started in the Skeleton European Cup . It was used in all eight races and always achieved single-digit placings. In Cesana Pariol , she finished third in the penultimate race of the season behind her compatriot Michelle Bartleman and the German Tina Hermann . In the overall standings, Widmer came third behind Sophia Griebel and Bartleman. At the Junior World Championships in St. Moritz , she just missed a medal in fourth place.

In the 2010/11 season , Widmer started in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup and once finished third on the podium. In the winter of 2011/12 she was first used in the European Cup , where she again took third place, and then started in the Intercontinental Cup , where her best place was 5th in Park City. In the following season she also took part in the Intercontinental Cup and once finished 3rd.

For the 2014/15 season, Micaela Widmer moved to the Swiss Association and was able to qualify for the Intercontinental Cup in the selection races . After an increase in performance in the course of the season with a win and third place in the last two races of the season, she reached second place in the overall standings behind Donna Creighton . In November 2015 she made her debut in the World Cup with rank 17 in Altenberg .
