Michael Beck (born November 4, 1960 in Stetten am kalten Markt , district of Sigmaringen ) is a CDU politician from Baden-Württemberg and has been Lord Mayor of Tuttlingen since 2004 .

biography

After graduating from high school , Beck studied law at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and graduated with the first state examination in law. This was followed by preparatory service at the Hechingen district court and the second state examination. Michael Beck then worked as an administrative lawyer at the Aalen district office , then became press spokesman and advisor to Max Gögler, President of the Tübingen district . From 1992 he was a judge at the Sigmaringen Administrative Court . In 1994 he was elected mayor of the city of Burladingen . He gave up this office in 1999 for the post of First Mayor of the city of Böblingen . At the end of 2003 Beck ran for the mayoral election in Tuttlingen and prevailed with 59.5% of the votes cast against the candidate on the Citizen Participation and Environmental Protection List, Hans-Martin Schwarz, who received 38.4% of the votes. Beck took office in 2004 and in the same year in the council of the district Tuttlingen chosen which he belongs since then. In 2011 and 2019 he was re-elected as Lord Mayor.

Michael Beck has been a member of the CDU since 1980. He is Catholic , married and has three children. His brother Ernst-Reinhard Beck was a member of the German Bundestag from 2002 to 2013 .
