Michael Bindlechner (born September 3, 1957 in Laa an der Thaya , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian director , cameraman and producer .

Life

Michael Bindlechner was born in Laa an der Thaya, a small town in Lower Austria, into a family of chemists . At the age of ten he already played his first film role, as Max, in the feature film production Max and Moritz , whereupon he received a photo camera as a souvenir gift after filming.

After completing a photography apprenticeship , he worked as a camera assistant for cameramen such as Derek Vanlint, Toni Imi, and many more. In 1980 he started working as a freelance cameraman and made documentary and television films worldwide. In 1987 he became a director and made over 250 commercials at home and abroad. He has received numerous international awards for his work, including the Golden Lion of Cannes .

In 1993 Michael Bindlechner founded the film production company FRAMES based in Vienna and produced the feature film " In Heaven ", which he also directed himself. For “In Heaven”, with Merab Ninidze , Sylvie Testud and Xaver Hutter , he received numerous international awards. In the advertising industry, Bindlechner made an international name for himself both as a director and as a producer with his FRAMES film production. Michael Bindlechner's specialty besides “storytelling” is the “food & tabletop” area, in which he is among the best in the world.

During a break in early 2000, he retired to his second adopted home, Edelprinz in the northern Waldviertel , and in 2003 wrote the book “Edelprinzer Gärtnerjahr. Diary of a break ”.
