Michael Müller (theologian, 1889)

Michael Müller (born June 24, 1889 in Bamberg ; † May 16, 1970 ibid) was a German Catholic theologian and university professor.

Life

A native of Bamberg Michael Müller turned to the High School to the study of theology at the Philosophical-Theological University of Bamberg , the Philosophy and Theology University of Regensburg and the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich to which he and the promotion of Dr. phil. completed. After years of assistance , Michael Müller completed his habilitation in 1924 as a private lecturer in the subjects of moral and pastoral theology , homiletics and Christian social science at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg . In 1927 Müller followed the call to the scheduled extraordinary professorship in his habilitation subjects at the Philosophical-Theological University of Bamberg. In 1939 Michael Müller returned to the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg in the position of full professor . (With rank from April 1, 1939, he was also full professor for moral and pastoral theology, homiletics and Christian social science in Würzburg from April 16, 1946, where he was also chairman of the homiletic and moral theological seminar). In 1954 he was released.

Michael Müller made contributions to systematic theology and in particular to the history of moral theology. He died in May 1970 at the age of 80 in his hometown Bamberg.
