Michael Silberbauer (born July 7, 1981 in Støvring ) is a former Danish football player and today's coach . In his active career he was active in Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland and was a Danish international . He is currently a video analyst in the Super League at FC Luzern

Active career

society

Silberbauer has been a professional footballer since 2000. The first club of his career was Aalborg BK . There the midfielder developed into one of the team's top performers. After three years in Aalborg, he turned his back on the club and moved to league rivals FC Copenhagen . With the club he won the Danish championship in 2004, 2006 and 2007, and the Royal League , the Scandinavian championship , in 2005 and 2006 . In 2004, the triple was made perfect with the Danish Cup and Super Cup .

After four years, Silberbauer transferred abroad. There, the Dutch Eredivisie representative FC Utrecht took him under contract. The Dane quickly became a regular player. After his first season abroad, the FCU supporters voted him the best player of the season and honored him with the David di Tommaso trophy .

For the 2011/12 season, Silberbauer moved to the first Swiss Super League for BSC Young Boys . On July 16, 2011 he made his debut under Christian Gross on the first match day for the Bernese. Silberbauer did not meet expectations and scored his only goal in a total of 28 league games with a penalty on April 9, 2012 in the 3-1 defeat on matchday 28; in 22 of them he played the entire season. In qualifying for the Europa League , the BSC Young Boys prevailed against KVC Westerlo and was eliminated in the barrage against the previous year's finalist Sporting Braga . Silberbauer was used in all four games.

In the new season , Silberbauer had a difficult debut under coach Martin Rueda and only made three appearances in the league at the start of the season. In qualifying for the 2012/13 Europa League , Silberbauer played in four of six games of the Bernese. The BSC Young Boys prevailed in the barrage against the Danish representative FC Midtjylland ; Silberbauer played in both games. On September 2, 2012, he last played for BSC Young Boys in a 2-1 win on matchday eight at FC Luzern , when he came on in the 89th minute for the injured Dusan Voskovac .

A short time later he was transferred on loan to the Danish first division club Odense BK . He made his debut for the club on September 14, 2012, when he was in the starting line-up in the 3-0 defeat at Esbjerg fB on matchday nine and was replaced by Hans Henrik Andreasen after 64 minutes . On October 28, 2012 he scored his first goal for Odense BK in the 2-4 defeat on Matchday 14 in the game against Aarhus GF . This was his only goal in 24 games in which he only played nine times over 90 minutes. He was convincing, but the loan contract was neither extended nor firmly committed.

He then returned to YB Bern, where he was transferred to the reserve team playing in the first division . The reasons for this were not known. On September 14, 2013 he made his debut for BSC Young Boys II in a 3-0 win on matchday seven in the game against FC Friborg in the starting line-up. On October 20, 2013, he scored his first goal for the reserve in a 5-1 win on matchday 13 at FC Oberwallis Naters . He was used in 17 of 26 games, played 13 times and scored two goals. Blick attested him “great commitment”.

In August 2014, Silberbauer terminated his contract with BSC Young Boys and moved to the Challenge League for FC Biel-Bienne . In the Bieler Tagblatt , the club's commitment to Silberbauer for two years was seen as a “sensation”. He was supposed to make his debut for Biel in the Swiss Cup against US Terre Sainte from the 1st division, but he only came on September 13, 2014 in a goalless draw on matchday eight in the Challenge League 2014/15 at FC Wil . For Zealanders Silberbauer came in 23 games available for use, but he played eleven times over 90 minutes. On July 27, 2015, Silberbauer ended his active career.

National team

From 2002 to 2013 Silberbauer was a Danish national player . He had previously been a junior selection player. His first goal in the dress of the Danes he scored June 2, 2006 in the game in Tampere against Finland .
