Michael Sollorz (born February 7, 1962 in Berlin-Friedrichshain ) is a German writer.

Life

Sollorz trained as a roofer and then worked as a tent worker for the circus, administrative staff and zoo animal keeper. In the early 1980s he began to write literary texts; since 1985 he has been a freelance writer and journalist.

At the end of 1986, the GDR radio broadcast three short radio plays written by Sollorz. At this time he worked in the Berlin working group homosexual self-help "Gays in the Church" led by Christian Pulz , Karsten Friedel, Wolfgang Rüddenklau and Ralf Limbecker at the Evangelical Confessional Church in Berlin-Alt-Treptow and was there for the organization of cultural events and the Responsible for issuing the AK's information letter. At the same time, as IM of the State Security , he provided reports on the work of the working group. As a journalist, he occasionally managed to get articles on gay topics in the GDR media (such as in the Junge Welt ). In 1988 Sollorz and Frank Goyke published literary works on homosexual subjects in the literary magazine temperamente (issue 2/1988).

His then unpublished manuscript Banale Tage was filmed by DEFA in 1990; The main roles of the film, which was directed by Peter Welz , include Florian Lukas , who was 17 at the time of shooting, and the writer Ronald M. Schernikau . Since the beginning of the 1990s, Sollorz worked as a columnist for the Berlin magazine Siegessäule and for the nationwide queer ; later his columns appeared in three anthologies ( Paul and others ; German master at the side jump ; Herrengedeck ). With Abel and Joe he published his first novel in 1994, which is also his greatest success to date.

After several erotic novels published under the pseudonym Fabian Kaden , his novel The Suitability , published in August 2008, was also increasingly received outside the scene media. The book is a psychogram of a janitor in an East Berlin prefabricated housing estate, who (on behalf of his former platoon leader in the GDR riot police) acts as a scout for an (imaginary?) Partisan army to combat the capitalist system.

Sollorz has a grown daughter and lives in Berlin.
