Michael Walde-Berger (* 1963 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor.

Life

Walde-Berger was born in Vienna and grew up partly in Tyrol . His mother is Tyrolean and daughter of the painter Alfons Walde , his father was a neurologist and psychiatrist in Vienna. After graduating from high school, he began studying philosophy and psychology , but then attended the Franz Schubert Conservatory in Vienna. He then studied acting in New York City from 1986 to 1988 at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute . Then he returned to Austria and worked in the first television productions in Austria and Germany.

From 1989 to 1993 he lived in Sarasota , Florida . The first international productions were Hidden Fears with Meg Foster and Frederic Forrest and Seven Sundays with Rod Steiger and Molly Ringwald . Various film productions followed, such as the multi-award-winning film Hasenjagd - For sheer cowardice there is no mercy Andreas Gruber as well as various television and film appearances. Due to his American education and professional experience, he made several films in Eastern Europe, such as Urban Menace in 1999 and Frankenstein Night in 2003 .

Walde-Berger was involved in several theater productions, including at the Innsbruck City Theater at the Innsbruck Cathedral Festival and the Tyrolean Folk Drama .

In addition to his work as an actor, since 1996 he has dedicated himself to the estate of his grandfather, the Tyrolean painter Alfons Walde. He continues the art publishing house founded by the artist in the 1920s and is working on a "Catalog Raisonné". Many exhibitions have been carried out during his supervision. A first film about the life of Alfons Walde was made in 2014 on the initiative and under the artistic direction of Michael Walde-Berger.
