Mickey Walker (born July 13, 1901 in Elizabeth , New Jersey , † April 28, 1981 in Freehold ) was an American boxer.

Walker began boxing in 1919, he was a classic pressure fighter who hit his opponent non-stop. In 1922 he became welterweight champion by winning points over Jack Britton. In 1925 he challenged middleweight legend Harry Greb , who boxed a very similar style, in this class, but had no chance and lost the fight on points.

He then defended his welterweight title twice until he lost it to Peter Latzo in May 1926.

Seven months later, however, he beat Greb's conqueror Tiger Flowers in a controversial decision and became world middleweight champion.

In 1929 and 1933 he tried to win the light heavyweight title, but lost to Tommy Loughran and Maxie Rosenbloom each on points. In 1931 he even fought in a draw against the later heavyweight world champion Jack Sharkey , in 1932 he beat the heavyweight Paolino Uzcudun , but lost by knockout against Max Schmeling .

Walker finally ended his career in 1935. In 1990 he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame .
