According to the United States Census Bureau , Midvale extends over an area of 15.1 km² . There is no body of water in the municipality.
history
The area, like the entire valley, was used by the nomadic Ute . While the area in the west of Midvale was characterized by mines, Midvale and the area in the east were initially characterized by agriculture.
The first settlers settled in today's city in 1851. In the 1870s, the city flourished because of its location near Bingham Canyon , then known as Bingham Junction , silver was found in Bingham Canyon and in the nearby Little Cottonwood Canyon . In Midvale, silver-processing operations began.
