Mihael Napotnik (born September 20, 1850 in Tepinaberg, † March 28, 1922 in Maribor ) was Prince-Bishop of Lavant , whose seat was already in Maribor at that time , and author .

Life

Michael Napotnik was born in the hamlet of Tepinaberg with 26 houses in the Lower Styrian judicial district of Gonobitz (today Tepanjski Vrh near Slovenske Konjice in Slovenia ).

After school and university he was ordained a priest on July 25, 1875. From 1881 to 1884, Napotnik taught philosophy , history and canon law at the prince-bishop's seminary of the Lavant diocese in Marburg , which was founded by Bishop Slomšek in 1859 .

On September 27, 1889 he was appointed Prince-Bishop of Lavant and consecrated on October 27 by the Archbishop of Salzburg, Franz Albert Eder . His enthronement took place on November 17, 1889 in the Marburg Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

He died on March 28, 1922 and was buried in Marburg Cathedral .
