Mike Jenkins (* 22. March 1985 in Neuenburg am Rhein , Germany ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the cornerbacks . He last played for the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL).
Player career
High school and college
In Baden-Wuerttemberg born Jenkins visited in Bradenton , Florida , the High School . After graduating from school, he studied at the University of South Florida from 2004 to 2007 . Jenkins played for his college football team as both cornerback and safety . He was the first player at his college to be voted All-American . In 2005, 2006 and 2007 he was able to move into bowl games with his team, the South Florida Bulls . Only the game against East Carolina University could be won in 2006 with 24: 7. In 2006, The Sporting News magazine named him one of the best cornerbacks in America.
NFL
Mike Jenkins was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round in 2008 as the 25th player in the NFL Draft . He received a five-year contract for 9,725,000 US dollars , with 6.75 million in guaranteed salary components. The $ 3.1 million bonus was paid out to him immediately. After Jenkins was only used as a substitute player in the year he signed his contract, he was able to establish himself as a starter in the following season . He got five interceptions in 2009 . For the first time he was able to move into the play-offs with his team this year .

Jenkins has an illegitimate son. He has two siblings and lives in Tampa outside of the NFL season .
