Milan Vukic

Milan Vukić (born August 19, 1942 in Sanski Most , Independent State of Croatia ) is a Bosnian chess player.

Life

Milan Vukić graduated as a lawyer, but preferred to work as a chess coach in his home town of Banja Luka . He won the Yugoslav Championship in 1970, 1971 and 1974. In 1975 he was awarded the Grand Master's title by FIDE . In 2005 Vukić won the Bosnian individual championship. Vukić's Elo number is 2373 (as of June 2017), his highest Elo number of 2517 he reached in January 2007.

National team

Vukić took part with the Yugoslav team at the European Team Championships in 1970 and 1980. At the European team in 2007 he was registered on the fourth board of the Bosnian team, which did not take part in the tournament.

In the Bosnian Premijer Liga, Vukić played for ŠK Kiseljak in 2002, for ŠK Napredak Prozor-Rama in 2003, for ŠK Željezničar Sarajevo from 2004 to 2007 , with whom he was champion in 2007 and in the European Club Cup in 2004 and 2005 , and in 2008 for KŠK Banja Luka , 2010 for the ŠK Čelik Zenica , 2011 for the ŠK Obudovac , 2012 for the ŠK Slavija Istočno Sarajevo as well as 2013 and 2014 for the ŠK Široki Brijeg , with which he became champion in 2014. In Yugoslavia he played for the team of Agrouniverzal Zemun , with whom he took part in the European Club Cup five times in a row from 1995 to 1999 and came second in 1999, in the Austrian State League A he played for SK Merkur Graz from 1989 to 1992 , with whom he became Austrian team champion in 1990 , 1991 and 1992 and took part in the European Club Cup in 1992.
