Ibro Šarić (born February 20, 1982 in Cazin , Yugoslavia ) is a chess grandmaster from Bosnia and Herzegovina .

In 2005 he was awarded the title of International Master . He had achieved all three necessary standards for this in the years 2002 and 2003 at tournaments in Croatia . He has been the grandmaster since January 2007.

In 1999 he took part in the U18 World Cup in Oropesa del Mar , Spain , and in 2000 in the U20 World Cup in Yerevan . He played successfully for Bosnia at the 2006 Chess Olympiad in Turin with a score of 8.5 out of 12 (+6 = 5 −1) on the fourth board. At the 2008 Chess Olympiad in Dresden , he was less successful with an individual result of 6.5 out of 11 (+3 = 7 −1) on the third board. He only takes part in individual tournaments in Croatia and Bosnia. At the Bosnian Individual Championship in Sarajevo in 2007 , he was third behind Predrag Nikolić and Borki Predojević .

He played club chess in Bosnia for the SD Željezničar Sarajevo and in the Premijer Liga, founded in 2003, for the ŠK Bihać and the ŠK Bosna Sarajevo . With Bihać he was team champion in Bihać in 2010 and with Sarajevo in 2013 in Sarajevo. In Croatian leagues he plays for ŠK Liburnija Rijeka . At the European Club Cup 2007 in Kemer , playing for Sarajevo , he received an individual bronze medal for his result of 5.5 points from 7 games on the fifth board.
