Mirabelle Thovex (born August 24, 1991 in Auray ) is a French snowboarder . It mainly starts in the halfpipe discipline .

Career

Thovex drove her first FIS World Cup race in Saas-Fee in November 2006 , which she finished in 17th place. At the Snowboard World Championships 2007 in Arosa , she finished 18th. Since 2007 she has also competed in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions . She achieved her first podium finish in March 2007 at the Billabong World Junior Pro in Leysin with third place in slopestyle . In January 2008, she won second place in slopestyle at the Protest World Rookie Fest in Livigno . At the Snowboard World Championships in 2009 she came in 24th place in the halfpipe competition. In her first Olympic participation in Vancouver in 2010 , she finished 20th. In the 2010/11 season she achieved five top ten placements five times in the FIS World Cup. In March 2011 in Bardonecchia she achieved her first podium finish in the World Cup with second place. In the same month she won the bronze medal on the halfpipe at the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2011 in Chiesa in Valmalenco . At the Snowboard World Championships 2011 in La Molina she finished seventh. She finished the season in fourth place in the FIS Freestyle World Cup and the Halfpipe World Cup. At the Snowboard World Championships 2012 in Oslo , she finished 16th. At the following World Championships in 2013 in Stoneham and 2015 in Kreischberg , she achieved seventh and eighth place. In February 2014, she reached tenth place at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . She was eighth at the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg. In February 2015 she finished third on the US Revolution Tour in Mammoth . She took sixth place at the X-Games Oslo 2016 . In March 2017, she finished ninth at the Snowboard World Championships in Sierra Nevada .

Thovex was French champion on the halfpipe in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2015.
