Miroslav Dreszer (born August 28, 1965 in Tychy , in Poland Mirosław Dreszer ) is a former Polish football goalkeeper .

Career

Player career

Dreszer started playing football in his hometown of Tychy and moved to Legia Warszawa at the age of 18 . In 1984 he took part in the European Championship with the Polish U-18 national team and took third place. Since he only had two assignments at Legia Warszawa within two years, he moved to GKS Katowice in 1986 . In five years in Katowice, Dreszer made 57 appearances and won the Polish Cup in 1991 . During the round of 16 in the 1986/87 European Cup Winners' Cup against FC Sion , Miroslav Dreszer suffered a serious injury, as a result of which his spleen had to be removed. In 1992 he moved to Germany for the first time and went to VfL Osnabrück in the second division . There he played 36 games in the 1992/93 season and then went to Eintracht Trier . Since he could not prevail, Dreszer moved back to the top Polish league to Zagłębie Lubin . After three years and 87 missions, the next move followed, this time to Ruch Chorzów . In 1998 he went to the then regional league club 1. FC Magdeburg , for whom he was in goal in 119 league games and 21 cup games. He quickly became a crowd favorite and won the Saxony-Anhalt State Cup in 2001 . Dreszer became known throughout Germany through the game 1. FC Magdeburg - FC Bayern Munich in the 2000/01 DFB Cup . After several good saves in the regular season, he held the balls of Jens Jeremies and Giovane Elber on penalties and was thus able to perfect the Magdeburg trophy. He remained loyal to 1. FCM until the end of his career in 2002. He ended his career due to a torn cruciate ligament that he suffered in training in February 2002. Although he had two operations, did various rehabs , and tried several comebacks, he had to realize that the healed injury still caused pain under heavy stress.

Coaching career

Even during his active time, Dreszer was active as a youth coach at SSV Groß Santersleben / Hermsdorf , where he coached his son's youth. After his active career, Miroslav Dreszer then became a football coach . First he was a trainer for a few years at the lower-class SSV Groß Santersleben / Hermsdorf , and from 2006 to 2007 he was also a goalkeeping coach at 1. FC Magdeburg. In the summer of 2007 he returned to his home country to work as a goalkeeping coach at Polonia Bytom . In the summer of 2012, his contract was not extended. In early October 2012 he became the new goalkeeping coach at the first division club Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała . He signed a contract until the end of the 2012/13 season with the option of an extension. In January 2013 he was replaced by Jarosław Matusiak .

Miroslav Dreszer is married (Mariola) and has two sons (Mateusz, Dominik). Mateusz also actively plays football, but in the position of the striker .
