The Mitchell & Ness Nostalgia Company is an American company based in Philadelphia , which was founded there in 1904. Mitchell & Ness makes sporting goods such as jerseys , sweatshirts , college jackets and baseball caps , mostly in a retro style.
history
Mitchell & Ness was founded by Frank P. Mitchell, and Charles M. Ness. Mitchell was a tennis player and wrestler , while Ness was previously a golfer. The company began producing golf and tennis rackets in 1904 . A short time later the company received the license from the National Basketball Association , the National Football League and the National Hockey League , for the Mitchell & Ness today jackets , sweatshirts and Snapback Caps manufactures in Germany in sports stores, such as Snipes offered become. Before that, they supplied the Philadelphia Eagles for the National Football League.
In 1938 Mitchell & Ness first made the Philadelphia Athletics team uniforms . Licenses were acquired from Major League Baseball in 1988, and from the National Basketball Association , National Football League and National Hockey League in 1998 .
In 2007, Adidas bought Mitchell & Ness to enter the replica clothing business. In 2016, adidas parted with Mitchell & Ness again through the sale to a newly founded company, which is majority-owned by Juggernaut Capital Partners. The sale price was $ 75 million, half paid in cash and half paid by promissory note .
In 2008, the Philadelphia Phillies announced that Mitchell & Ness had signed Citizens Bank Park as partners for naming rights for their Phillies apparel store. The Mitchell & Ness Alley store is located on Ashburn Alley.
