action

A summit meeting of the world's largest economic powers is held in the lagoon city. The background to this meeting is to get a joint disarmament plan in motion. Obviously there are forces as powerful as they are secret who oppose this and want to destroy this plan. A bomb explodes and 13 people die. It quickly turns out that the US representative of all people had planted and detonated the bomb. He was also killed in the process. Washington is appalled that the US government is now falsely suspected of having commissioned the attack. The American journalist Bill Fenner, officially in the service of a US news agency, is sent to Venice by his boss to investigate the background to this bomb attack. In truth, the CIA is behind it, which was once Fenner's employer.

Fenner's former wife Sandra Fane was also last in contact with the suicide bomber. But Sandra is as if swallowed by the earth. Fenner is now supposed to track down his ex in order to possibly get further information from her. Other suspects involved in the matter soon emerged, including a certain Robert Wahl, a seedy businessman who appears to be a rather unscrupulous mastermind behind the scenes. It's about a miracle serum with which you can massively manipulate people. When the old, experienced diplomat Vaugiroud is supposed to write his final report on the investigations, the number of deaths increases noticeably. Now Fenner and Sandra are also in great danger ...
