The Mittlere Marzellspitze ( Italian Punta di Marzèl di Mezzo ) is a 3532 m (according to other information also 3528 or 3527 m ) high peak in the Schnalskamm in the Ötztal Alps . The summit lies exactly on the state border between the Austrian state of Tyrol and the Italian province of South Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The Mittlere Marzellspitze is a summit that rises approximately in the middle of the Schnalskamm, which runs from west to east. The closest peaks are the western Marzellspitze ( 3529 m ) and the eastern Marzellspitze ( 3550 m ). The southern flanks of the mountain slope down towards Pfossental and are part of the Texel Group Nature Park . The Marzellferner extends north of the Mittlerer Marzellspitze .
Climbs
The Mittlere Marzellspitze is typically crossed as part of an alpine tour from the Martin-Busch-Hütte or reached from the Pfossental without touching the glacier (also as a demanding ski tour ).
