Momentum (Congress)
Momentum (Congress) is a political and scientific conference in Hallstatt ( Upper Austria ). It is a multi-day, interdisciplinary symposium with participants from science, politics and practice from German-speaking countries.
At the annual congress , several topics are dealt with in simultaneous tracks ( workshops ). In advance, a call for papers will be asked to write contributions. At the opening of the congress, plenary lectures ( keynotes ) will be presented, the supporting program includes panel discussions and readings. The Proceedings of the Congress appear in Braumüller publishing , the individual contributions are mostly also open access online accessible. In addition, selected articles are published in the magazine Momentum Quarterly or as a policy paper.
Momentum08: Justice
The congress, which took place in Hallstatt from September 25 to 27, 2008 with around 170 participants , dealt with political and scientific issues relating to the issue of justice . The scientific director was the Linz social scientist Josef Weidenholzer . The former ÖH chairwoman Barbara Blaha took over the political leadership .

Momentum09: freedom
From October 22 to 25, 2009, the congress with around 200 participants worked on the subject of freedom in the following networks:

The thematic network “Freedom, Economy and Social Security” comprised the tracks

The discussants, track leaders and guests included Ulrich Brand , Ruth Becker, Markus Marterbauer, Alois Guger, Robert Misik , Josef Ackerl and the writer Robert Griesbeck .
Momentum10: solidarity
The Momentum10 congress on solidarity took place in Hallstatt from October 21 to 24, 2010 with around 250 participants.
In the tracks, among other things, the question of the prerequisites for a solidary society is asked.

The Momentum11 congress on equality took place from October 27-30, 2011. The venue was again Hallstatt.

The congress on the subject of criticism took place in Hallstatt from October 22nd to 25th, 2015. Anatol Stefanowitsch gave the opening speech .

The congress dealt with power from October 13 to 16, 2016 - Julia Friedrichs contributed the speech at the opening of the congress .

The diversity congress took place from October 19-22, 2017 in Hallstatt, Upper Austria. Contributors: Noah Sow , Florian Aigner and Hanna Herbst .
