content

world

The world of the Monster Rancher was once a highly developed civilization whose science was particularly advanced in the field of genetic engineering . As a result, she was able to redesign animals and store their genetic information in stone slabs, the secret stones. With the help of such secret stones, these animals can be recreated in special shrines.

A war broke out in this world in which animals were developed into biological weapons. Civilizations wiped each other out and technology was lost. Centuries later, the technologies were rediscovered, as were the mystery stones and shrines. This creates the monsters again and creates a popular sport, monster breeding. The monster breeders raise the monsters and they compete in tournaments and competitions.

Important items

The Miracle Stone
Holly got the Miracle Stone from her father before the act. Holly always wears it around her neck. Moo can steal it for a short time, but Holly gets her property back. The miracle stone is very old and was used by the ancients. It glows red and then shows locations where there are secret stones, the phoenix or moss real bodies. But it also lit up when the group met Tiger, Haki and Suezō. In episode 38, the miracle stone healed the wounded Golem, Mochi, Tiger, Haki and Suezō through its power. In the 40th episode ( The Secret of the Miracle Stone ) the friends learned that "Miracle" is the name of a country where the ancients had lived. Moo created this land. “Miracle” was also the land in which monsters were created through genetic manipulation, which were then kept in secret stones. In the 47th episode, the Miracle Stone melted. In the 50th episode, a white Suezō named Proritoka, together with the Mochi Moost, won a glass trophy at the "Monster Cup Tournament" in which a miracle stone was included. In episode 72, Moost gave Holly the miracle stone.
The secret stone
All deceased monsters turn into mystery stones. Malicious monsters too, but their secret stone grows on a plant. In such cases, we also speak of lost monsters . Tiger and Suezō were brought back to life from the mystery stones. The phoenix was also caught in a secret stone. In order to free lost monsters from their secret stones, they have to be brought to a shrine. There they are placed on a glass plate in the middle of the room. After the saying “appear!” The lost monster reappears.
Holly's dagger
Holly was given a dagger in the flying fortress by Moo in episode 14 ( Holly's rescue ) while he had kidnapped her. With this dagger she was supposed to kill Moo, which she didn't do. The dagger was studded with jewels. In episode 32, a con named Niton showed up. He lied to the friends, and stole the dagger. After an attack by the evil troops, Niton returned the dagger to the owner, but without the jewels. In episode 38, Holly wanted to kill the last hour's warrior with this dagger, but he can regenerate. In the 40th episode, Holly learned that the dagger came from the ancient land of "Miracles".
The mark of the wicked
The sign of the bad guys, also the badge of the bad guys or the coat of arms of the bad guys , is a symbol of the evil monsters. Every monster that was transformed by Moo wore this structure. A total of eleven monsters lost their badges over the course of the series. On the one hand Granity in the 47th episode, because a tear flowed on the sign of the bad guys and she was thus freed from evil, and on the other hand Wild in episode 55, because Haki broke the coat of arms. The badge of the wicked is exactly the same as that of the ancients. In addition, one of the three Tombstone brothers broke the Pinkyam crest in episode 61 and the crests of the four converters. After the fight against the evil spirit, Durahan, Gobi, Mew and Poison also lost the mark of the evil troops.

Golem ( ゴ ー レ ム , Gōremu )
Golem loved sand, stones and flowers more than anything and couldn't do much with water, cold and ice. He was the protector in the group and took care of Holly most of the time. Since then, Tiger has never seen his alleged brother again. After he came to terms with the loss, he became the boss of the "tiger gang" that stole food, robbed shops and ambushed people. When the group was about to go to their place one day, Moo's troops had devastated everything and killed all of Tiger's friends. Only Tiger survived and was kindly received by Genki and Holly. Both got along better and better, which was also due to the fact that they constantly respond to each other. Tiger said to Haki in almost every episode, "I'll eat you!" He was part of the spirit of the Phoenix and united with the other four to resurrect the Phoenix. Holly felt that in episode 51 there must be tiger in a secret stone at the Monster Cups . After he was freed, Tiger also forgot all of his attacks. At first he found it very difficult to learn his forgotten attacks, but was gradually able to use his attacks again. Tiger saw his alleged brother Wolfszahn again in episode 66. In the final episode, all five monsters reunited to form the phoenix to defeat General Durahan.
Haki ( ハ ム , Hamu )

However, Haki decided to join the friends after all. Haki always had good ideas and knew the answers to the most impossible questions. To Tiger's sentence “I'll eat you!” Haki always replied with “Then try it!” He was part of the spirit of Phoenix and united with the other four to resurrect the Phoenix. After he found his friends again, a time passed. Then he met Fairy and Wild, his two best childhood friends, again. In the final episode, all five monsters reunited to form the phoenix to defeat General Durahan.
Other important characters
Allan
Allan is a teenage boy. He treated his monster, a giant worm, not like a friend but like a slave. It wasn't until his worm died because he was set up by the Flora sisters that he understood what true friendship meant. After the death of his first worm, Holly and Genki gave Allan a baby worm to take care of. Allan returned in the 59th episode. The group learned that his worm was now very large. He also brought back to life his dead worm, which had turned into a mystery stone after the merging of Moo and the phoenix.
Wolf tooth
When the friends fought against Gali, the second of the nasty four, it turned out that Wolfszahn is the third of the nasty four . In a fight between the two alleged brothers, Tiger intentionally broke the badge of evil. Little did Tiger suspect that he would be sentenced to death. But Wolf's Tooth died before Tiger's eyes. He would like to turn back time, but it's too late for that now. In the 66th episode, Tiger met Wolfszahn again. He was freed from his secret stone by Nina. Tiger explained to Wolfszahn that they are not really brothers, but have just been abandoned in the same place. As it turned out later, it was only a white lie from Tiger to motivate Wolftooth to fight.
Pixie
Pixie was shaped like a bat and had red wings. At the beginning she was one of the nasty four . After several fights with her, Genki had managed to pull her on the good side and advise her against Moo. Although she didn't want to see it, she accepted the help of her friends. After a fight with Moo, Pixie died. Battle Colossus then decided to sacrifice his life and unite with Pixie so she could go on living.
Battle colossus
Battle Colossus was Pixie's best friend. Both always stuck together. He always protected "Pixie". When she was dying, he allowed himself to be united with her in order to give her life out of love. However, Granity, as it was called after the merger, missed Battle Colossus a lot.
Moo
Moo used to be Holly's father. When Holly was a young child, her father was banished from the village where they lived. Holly doesn't know the reason for this to this day. Holly's father then looked for the legendary phoenix and the miracle stone, which has special powers. When he found a "secret stone", the spirit of Moo suddenly flew into his body. Holly's father no longer had any control over himself and his behavior and destroyed all the villages, the monsters and the people.
Moo was developed through genetic manipulation of the ancients in the land of "Mirakel". Moss' spirit separated from his body and after a long time he was able to reunite with it. With combined forces, however, Genki and his friends managed to defeat Moo together with the legendary phoenix. However, Moo merged with the phoenix and the spirits of both disappeared without a trace. After his death, all bad monsters turned back into good ones, and all lost monsters were locked in mystery stones. Holly and Mochi found Moo's secret stone in episode 49. In episode 72, Holly's father was successfully freed from the secret stone. However, he has lost his memory and does not know who he is. Still, he started to remember it.
The phoenix
The phoenix, also called the ash bird , was created in the land of "miracles" of the ancients by genetic manipulation. He should defeat Moo. The researchers also developed “The Last Gate”. The body and mind of the phoenix were also separated from one another in the past. In the last episode, Golem, Haki, Tiger, Mochi and Suezō reunited to form the Phoenix to defeat Durahan. However, the friends had decided too much to save their enemies too. So Durahan, Poison, Mew and Gobi did not die and lost their badges.
General Durahan
General Durahan is just like Moo one of the bad guys and comes from the eastern continent because Moo asked for him. He controls the western continent. Both wanted to defeat the group at first, but Durahan was playing the wrong game so that he had tried to take down Moo in order to become ruler of the world himself. His partner was called Lilim. Durahan survived the fight and his body now consisted only of his head (see Dullahan ), which was attached to a machine. In order to have a normal body again, Durahan needed the miracle stone. At his side was the bat lady Poison after Lilim's death. In addition, Gobi and Mew were now available to him as subjects. Durahan, Poison, Gobi and Mew were attacked by the friends while the mystery stone in which the evil spirit of Moo was trapped was awakened. They merged into a new life with General Durahan. Inside the evil spirit, all four could still be saved. After the victory, he had his true body back.
Lilim
Lilim, however, dared to side with Moo and betrayed "Durahan". After a fight between the Floras, Durahan, Moo, the group and you, Durahan appeared to be defeated. But he managed to save himself and stabbed Lilim with his sword.
Granity
After the Battle Colossus united with Pixie, Granity woke up. At first she did not want to be true that the Battle Colossus had united with her to save her life. Granity started crying and one of her flowing tears hit the badge of evil. Then it disappeared and she fought with her friends against Moo and for the good. Granity was in the shape of a bat, just as she had before as a pixie. As a Granity, however, her wings were blue, not red.
