The Monte Cristallo ( German: Kristallberg) is with a height of 3221  m slm the highest mountain of the Cristallo group in the Dolomites . It was climbed for the first time on September 14, 1865 by Paul Grohmann , Angelo Dimai and Santo Siorpaes .

Location and surroundings

The Monte Cristallo is located in northeast Italy in the region of Veneto . It is located northeast of Cortina d'Ampezzo and overlooks the Valle del Boite ( Boite Valley). The Cristallo massif is surrounded by the Braies Dolomites , the Sesto Dolomites with the Three Peaks and the Tofans . To the east below is the Misurina lake .

Ascent

The starting point for the easiest ascent of Monte Cristallo is Passo Tre Croci at an altitude of 1,809 meters. From there it goes over Grava di Cerigeres and Passo del Cristallo to the summit.
