Moorende is part of the municipality of Jork in the Altes Land in the Lower Saxony district of Stade . In 1972 the places Hove and Moorende from the Harburg district were incorporated into the Jork municipality and have been part of the Stade district ever since.
Geography and transport links
The place is located south of the core town of Jork on the K 83 county road. The Este , a left tributary of the Elbe, flows through the place . The distance to the north flowing Elbe is 4.5 km, the distance to the eastern border with Hamburg is 2.5 km. North is the 68 ha large protected area (NSG) Borsteler Binnenelbe Large and brackish . To the south-east are the 1317 ha large NSG Moore near Buxtehude and - in the Hamburg area - the 737 ha nature reserve Moorgürtel .
The state road L 140 runs north, south-west the A 26 and a little further south the B 73 .
economy
The fruit growing research institute Jork is located in Esteburg Castle , a former moated castle of the late renaissance . She deals with biological and market economy issues of fruit growing.
