According to Osterloh, agriculture forms the economic basis for the Moorhauser into the 21st century.

In 1912/13, Moorhausen had its own school , which was inaugurated on May 8, 1913. The children had previously gone to school in Dangast and Dangstermoor. The brick building had two classrooms and teachers' apartments as well as a school garden. On July 31, 1973, the school was closed after reforms.
