The Mosoc Llacta district is located in the Acomayo province of the Cusco region in south-central Peru . The district was established on November 11, 1964. It has an area of ​​43.9 km². The 2017 census counted 1203 inhabitants. In 1993, the population in 1335 was, in 2007, at 1864. The district administration is in at an altitude of 3810  m situated village Mosoc Llacta with 678 inhabitants (2017). Mosoc Llacta is 32 km southeast of the provincial capital Acomayo .

Geographical location

The district of Mosoc Llacta is located in the Andean highlands in the extreme southeast of the province of Acomayo. In the south the district extends to the northern shore of the Laguna Pampamarca . The lake Laguna Asnacocha is located in the center of the district. The Río Vilcanota flows north along the northeastern district boundary .

The district of Mosoc Llacta is bordered to the north by the district of Acopía , to the northeast and east by the districts of Checacupe and Combapata (both in the province of Canchis ) and to the south by the districts of Pampamarca and Túpac Amaru (both in the province of Canas ).
