Muna Barat (German: Westmuna) is a government district ( Kabupaten ) on the Indonesian island of Muna . The district is part of the Sulawesi Tenggara Province (Southeast Sulawesi). The administrative seat is Laworo in the Sawerigadi district.

geography

The administrative district is located in the northwest of the island of Muna and borders on the district of Muna in the south and east . The natural border in the north forms the strait of Tiworo ( Selat Tiworo ) with the Tiworo archipelago and in the west the Floresee ( Laut Flores ).

Administrative division

The district of Buton Tengah was spun off from the district of Muna by law No. 14 in 2014 and consists of eleven administrative districts ( Kecamatan ) (as of 2019):
