The Municipio Camiri is a district in the Santa Cruz Department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .

Location in the vicinity

The Municipio Camiri is one of seven Municipios of the Cordillera Province and covers an area in the south-western part of the province. It is bordered to the west by the municipality of Lagunillas , on the southwest by the Chuquisaca , on the south by the municipality of Cuevo , on the east by the municipality of Charagua , and the north by the municipality of Gutiérrez .

The municipality extends between about 19 ° 48 'and 20 ° 14' south latitude and 63 ° 11 'and 63 ° 40' west longitude, its expansion from west to east and from north to south is up to 45 kilometers each.

The municipality comprises 22 municipalities ( localidades ), the central place of the municipality is the town of Camiri with 28,855 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the central part of the district.

The municipality of Camiri is located on the western edge of the Bolivian lowlands between the foothills of the southeastern Cordillera Central . The climate is subtropical and semi-humid , the temperatures fluctuate only to a limited extent during the day and during the year.
