The Municipio San Ignacio is a district in the Beni department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The municipality of San Ignacio is the only municipality in the province of Moxos and borders in the northwest on the province of Yacuma , in the southwest on the province of Ballivián , in the south on the department of Cochabamba , in the southeast on the province of Marbán , and in the northeast on the province of Cercado .
The largest town and administrative seat of the province is the small town of San Ignacio de Moxos with 10,054 inhabitants ( 2012 census ) in the northwestern part of the municipality.

San Ignacio is located in the Moxos plain , with over 100,000 km² one of the largest wetlands on earth. The predominant form of vegetation in the San Ignacio region is the tropical savannah .
The annual precipitation for the region is 1,900 mm (see climate diagram Trinidad), with a clear dry season in the months May to September. The monthly average temperatures are between 24 ° C and 29 ° C all year round.
