Murarátka is a Hungarian community in the county Letenye in Zala county .
Geographical location
Murarátka is located about four kilometers northwest of the town of Letenye , on the left bank of the Mura River , which forms the border with Croatia . The Rátkai-patak flows through the village and flows into the Mura in the southern part of the municipality. Neighboring municipalities are Muraszemenye , Szentmargitfalva and Csörnyeföld.
history
The place was mentioned in writing as early as 1353 under the name Rathk . In 1403 the two parts of the place were named Alsowrathk and Felsewrathk . From 1877 the name Rátka was in use and since 1926 the place bears the official name Murarátka to distinguish it from the Rátka of the same name in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County .
