The US Highway 34 runs south of the city in west-east direction a few hundred meters. All other roads are subordinate country roads, some unpaved roads and inner-city connecting roads.
A railway line for the freight traffic of the BNSF Railway runs in a west-east direction through the urban area of Murray. This route is also used by Amtrak's California Zephyr , which runs from Chicago to San Francisco and has a station in neighboring Osceola.
