Band history

The band name Naca refers to the so-called NACA score . Level 7 describes a "fatal injury / illness without resuscitation or rea unsuccessful". Founded in 1997 by Michael “mg” Girsa (drums), Simon “es-j” Jahn (vocals, guitar) and Christopher Schnell (electric bass), the band performed for the first time in the Stand Up Club in Fischamend . It followed in 1998 the release of their first nameless demo CD, an extended play with two songs. In 2000 Christian Hochi joined the band as the second guitarist. In the same year the band released a second EP called Welcome , also as an in-house production. This was voted “Demo of the Month” in the English Metal Hammer . Two tours followed with Cortizone and the Emil Bulls in October 2001. In the same year the band was nominated as a newcomer for the FM4 Award, which is presented as part of the Amadeus Austrian Music Award. However, waxolutionists won . It was the first time the prize was awarded for the newly created category. The winners were chosen by the FM4 listeners.

On 9 December 2003 her debut album was released Several Reasons to Die For on the label Acute ( precious ). Bernhard Gittenberger and Eddie Sieblik produced the album, Birgit Denk von Denk helped them as vocal coach. The release party took place on the same day in the Arena Vienna . Naca7 were the first band that was allowed to play in the newly opened "Great Hall".

The second album Barricades on Fire followed in 2005 . During the production the band was again supported by Birgit Denk and Bernhard Gittenberger (Recordable Studio). The album artwork was done by Milo ( mechzilla , ex- blemishes ). Birgit Denk, Marcus Smaller ( 3 Feet Smaller ) and Titi Tinhof (Denk) were represented as guest singers . A cover version of the Beatles classic Come Together is on the album. On 2006 and 2007 the band played at the Two Days a Week festival in Wiesen , Burgenland .

In 2006 the band took part in a MediaMarkt advertising campaign. You wrote the theme song for the 40-minute pseudo-horror film Dad's Dead . On May 16, 2007, the third album The Alliance Has Failed was released , this time on the Rebeat label .

In 2012 the last album Hall of Fame followed via Acute (distribution: Hoanzl ). Once again Birgit Denk appeared as a guest singer. Boon's Woifal “12A” Pendl can also be heard on the album. This time the artwork was done by Christopher Schnell himself.

In 2014 a split EP was released with the band Mantan , in which the two bands covered each other. It was a vinyl-only release.

Music genre

especially at the beginning, the band was essentially influenced by the Nu-Metal wave of the late 1990s. The first Demo Welcome in particular was reminiscent of Limp Bizkit , Deftones , Soulfly and Korn . The band itself describes their style as "Aiport Hardcore", an allusion to their hometown Schwechat, where the internationally known Vienna-Schwechat Airport is located. By this they understand a hardcore style that is more oriented towards the basic virtues of "straightforwardness, honesty, reliability, cohesion and respect" than towards musical criteria. The texts move between personal topics and social criticism, are usually formulated quite clearly, but also allow other interpretations. In particular on later albums there were more and more rock influences. The Hall of Fame also features ballads and pieces influenced by blues rock , as well as a piece performed in dialect , without the band forgetting their hardcore punk origins.
