Nagarjun ( Nepali नागार्जुन ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .

The city, located in the northwest of the Kathmandu district , was created in 2014 through the amalgamation of the five Village Development Committees (VDCs) Bhimdhunga , Ichankhu Narayan , Ramkot , Seuchatar and Sitapaila . The city administration is located in the administration building of the former VDC Sitapaila. The urban area covers 29.8 km². In the east, the city borders on that of the capital Kathmandu.

Residents

At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Nagarjun had 67,420 residents (34,064 of them male) in 16,746 households.
