Kageshwari-Manohara ( Nepali कागेश्वरी – मनोहरा ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .
The city in the east of the Kathmandu district was created in 2014 by merging the six Village Development Committees (VDCs) Aalapot , Bhadrabas , Danchhi , Gagalphedi , Gothatar and Mulpani . The city administration is located in the administration building of the former VDC Danchhhi.
The urban area covers 27.5 km². It borders in the southwest on the urban area of Kathmandu (airport), in the west on the new city of Gokarneshwar , in the south on Madhyapur Thimi and in the east and northeast on the likewise newly created cities Changunarayan and Shankharapur ; in the north it is part of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park .
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that made up the city of Kageshwari-Manohara had 60,237 residents (30,233 male and 30,004 female) in 14,329 households.
