Tokha ( Nepali टोखा ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .
The city, located in the north of the Kathmandu district , was created in 2014 by merging the five Village Development Committees (VDCs) Dhapasi , Gonggabu , Jhor Mahankal , Tokha Chandeshwari and Tokha Saraswati . The city administration is located in the former VDC Tokha Chandeshwari. The urban area covers 16.9 km². In the south the urban area borders on that of the capital Kathmandu.
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs that formed the city of Tokha had 99,032 residents (50,709 of them male) in 25,561 households.
