NatWest Series 2002

The NatWest Series 2002 was a three-nation tournament that was held from June 27 to July 13, 2002 in England in one-day cricket . In the tournament, which was part of the 2002 international cricket season, teams from India and Sri Lanka took part alongside the host . In the final India was able to prevail against England with 2 wickets.

prehistory

The tour took place following the test series in Sri Lanka in England . India previously played a tour in the West Indies .

format

In a preliminary round, each team played against each other three times. There were four points for a win, two points for a draw or no result. Bonus points were also awarded. The first two of the group qualified for the final and played for the tournament victory.
