Nathalie Boltt (born July 19, 1973 in Johannesburg ) is a South African actress and dancer .

Life

Nathalie Boltt was born as the daughter of a Swiss and an Englishwoman . She grew up bilingual with English and German .

Boltt attended the German School in Johannesburg from 1980 to 1986 and later the Hyde Park High School. From 1993 to 1996 she trained as an actress at Rhodes University in Grahamstown , from which she graduated with a diploma. She also received professional dance training in ballet , tap dance , jazz and modern dance . From 1994 to 1997 Boltt was a solo dancer with the First Physical Theater Company in Cape Town .

Boltt had his first theater engagements during her student days, where she appeared at the Rhodes Theater in Grahamstown. In 1996 she played Ariel in the poetic fairy tale play The Tempest by William Shakespeare . Engagements at the Civic Theater in Johannesburg and at the Baxter Theater in Cape Town followed. Boltt appeared as a stage actress in 2000/2001 as Mrs. Forsythe in Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller and in 2005 as Gertrude in Rosenkranz and Güldenstern are dead by Tom Stoppard .

From 1996, Boltt also played in film and television . She initially received minor roles in various television series . She played in the BBC series Die Profis - The Next Generation and in the SABC production Generations .

Boltt then gained greater fame through the continuous series lead role of Joey Ortlepp in the South African soap opera Isidingo , where she played continuously from 2001 to 2004. In 2008 she played the title role in the South African mini series Ella Blue produced by M-Net .

In the German television Boltt was founded in 2004 by the female lead as Rose of Zulöw alongside Tim Bergmann in the historical television miniseries The white Africans known. In it she played the attractive mistress of a South African landowner, whom Bergmann falls in love with in his film role as Hans Merensky .

In 2005, Boltt starred in the US disaster film The Poseidon Attack , a remake of the 1972 classic Poseidon's Infernal Journey . She stayed true to this genre in 2007 with her role in the British film The Flood - When the Sea Devours the Cities .

Director Neill Blomkamp cast Boltt in his 2009 science fiction film District 9 in the role of sociologist Sarah Livingstone. She also gained great fame through the Riverdale series , in which she has been seen since 2017.
