Nathan Martin Coe (born June 1, 1984 in Brisbane ) is an Australian football player . The goalkeeper , who was appointed to various Australian youth selections, played most of his professional career in Europe. He has played for Melbourne Victory since 2012 .
Career
Coe began his professional career at Inter Milan , where he not in the Serie A was used. In 2004 he moved on to PSV Eindhoven , but was just as unable to assert himself here and was only fourth goalkeeper behind Gomes , Oscar Moens and Ruud Boffin .
Coe therefore moved to FC Copenhagen in the Danish Super League in 2007 . Here, too, he was only a substitute behind Jesper Christiansen and was pushed to third position in 2008 by the newly signed Johan Wiland . In his first year and a half in Denmark, he only made three league appearances. Therefore, the club decided to loan him to Örgryte IS in Sweden from March 2009 until the end of June , because the goalkeeper Peter Abrahamsson was injured there. From the second day of play he guarded the goal in the Allsvenskan and made five league appearances. However, at the beginning of May he injured his hand and was out until the summer break.
In October 2012 Coe was signed by the A-League club Melbourne Victory and was appointed goalkeeper immediately after his engagement from coach Ange Postecoglou .
In 2001 Coe took part with the Australian U-17 selection as a goalkeeper at the U-17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago and reached the quarter-finals with the team. Two years later he was also a permanent member of the 2003 U-20 World Cup and made it to the round of 16. In 2011, Coe was a substitute goalkeeper behind Mark Schwarzer for the Australian squad at the Asian Cup in Qatar. In a preparatory game, he made his international debut on January 5, 2011 against the United Arab Emirates .
