National League A (chess) 2007
In the 2007 season of the Swiss National League A in chess , the promoted Sorab Basel , the defending champion Schachfreunde Reichenstein and SK Mendrisio were tied at the top before the last round . Of this trio, only Mendrisio remained victorious in the final round and thus became Swiss team champion for the first time. From the National League B was next Sorab Basel Black and White Bern ascended. In purely sporting terms , Bern would have been relegated together with SG Riehen , but since both Sorab Basel and SG Biel withdrew from the National League A after the season, Bern and Riehen were still relegated .
