National League A (chess) 2004

In the 2004 season of the Swiss National League A in chess , the SG Biel won all competitions and thus had four points ahead of the chess friends Reichenstein ; the defending champion SG Zurich had to be content with third place. From the National League B were SK Mendrisio and Rossli Reinach ascended. While Mendrisio managed to stay up, Reinach and SK Bern were relegated straight away. Promotion games to the National League A.

In the 2004 season, promotion games to the National League A took place for the last time; From the 2005 season, the winners of National League B East and West rose directly to National League A. For the promotion games, the winner SG Winterthur and the runner-up Bianco Nero Lugano from the National League B East , the second Joueur Lausanne and the third Club d'échecs de Sion from the National League B West (the winner was the second team of chess friends who were not eligible for promotion Reichenstein ). The promotion games between Winterthur and Sion and between Lausanne and Lugano took place in Winterthur and Lausanne. In both competitions, the representatives of the Eastern relay were able to prevail and thus rose to the National League A. While Winterthur landed an 8-0 victory, Lugano narrowly prevailed with 4½: 3½.
