National League A (chess) 2003

In the 2003 season of the Swiss National League A in chess , the defending champion SG Zurich had already secured first place before the last round, and in the end the lead over the runner-up SG Biel was three points.

From the National League B were SG Riehen and Lugano CS ascended. While Riehen achieved relegation, Lugano and SG Winterthur had to relegate directly. For the reported team squads of the participating clubs, see team squad of the Swiss National League A in Chess 2003 .

Promotion games to the National League A.

The winner SK Mendrisio and the runner-up SC Bodan from the National League B East had qualified for the promotion games , from the National League B West the winner Rössli Reinach and the second Club d'échecs de Genève (who played the tie-off against the team and board point equals Third Joueur Lausanne prevailed). The promotion games between Mendrisio and Genève and between Reinach and Bodan took place with the relay winners. In both competitions, the hosts, who were promoted to the National League A, were just able to prevail. Mendrisio won 5: 3, Reinach kept the upper hand after a 4: 4 thanks to the better Berlin rating (20½: 15½).
