The nature reserve Funckenhauser Bachtal with an area of ​​41.50  ha is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The nature reserve (NSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. It is located in the vestibule district . A sports field is adjacent to the north. Otherwise it is surrounded by forest.

Area description

The NSG includes Bach-Alder-Ash forest with Bach in the Funckenhauser Bachtal. There is a wasteland in the NSG. In the dry area of ​​the forest there are oaks and beeches that are up to 200 years old. In the NSG animal species are marsh grasshopper , marsh warbler , brown trout , river cap screw , stone fly , mayfly and caddis fly before. There are plant species such as spotted orchid , marsh thistle , Avens , Winkelsegge and Equisetum palustre find.

Protection purpose

The NSG was designated as a nature reserve for the preservation and restoration of communities or habitats of certain wild plant and wild animal species as well as for the preservation and development of nationally significant biotopes of rare and endangered as well as typical wild plant and animal species of European importance .
