Bachtal Acid Epscheid

The nature reserve Bachtal Saure Epscheid with an area size of 1.87  ha is located in the area of ​​the independent city of Hagen in North Rhine-Westphalia . The nature reserve (NSG) was designated in 1994 with the landscape plan of the city of Hagen by the city council of Hagen. The NSG goes to the city limits. In the Ennepe-Ruhr district and in the town of Breckerfeld , the Saure Epscheid nature reserve is directly adjacent .

Area description

The NSG comprises areas of the low mountain range Epscheider Bach with floodplain areas. Source corridors in the floodplain also belong to the NSG. At the Epscheider Bach and Aue in the NSG the species of dipper , swamp reed warbler , brown trout and river limpets occur. There are plant species such as meadowsweet, sorrel, giant horsetail and purple loosestrife .

Protection purpose

The NSG was designated as a nature reserve for the preservation and restoration of communities or habitats of certain wild plant and wild animal species as well as for the preservation and development of nationally significant biotopes of rare and endangered as well as typical wild plant and animal species of European importance .
