Area description

The NSG includes a forest area and former quarry areas. On the western slope of the quarry, a near-natural limestone beech forest grows, which is followed by a bushy former limestone quarry. Part of this area is characterized by a limestone debris slope exposed to the southwest. The southern part is a valuable beech wood that is over 200 years old.

Protection purpose

The NSG was designated as a nature reserve for the preservation and restoration of communities or habitats of certain wild plant and wild animal species as well as for the preservation and development of nationally significant biotopes of rare and endangered as well as typical wild plant and animal species of European importance .
