Navjeet Kaur Dhillon (born March 6, 1995 in Amritsar , Punjab ) is an Indian discus thrower .

Athletic career

Navjeet Dhillon gained her first international experience at the 2011 World Youth Championships near Lille , where she was eliminated with 44.46 m in qualification. Then she won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Douglas with 45.27 m. The following year she won the silver medal at the Junior Asian Championships in Colombo with 44.78 m and at the Asian Championships in Pune she finished ninth and seventh in the shot put and discus throw with 12.91 m and 45.33 m. In 2014 she won the silver medal with the discus again with 53.66 m and with 14.99 m in the shot put at the Junior Asian Championships in Taipei . She then took part in the Junior World Championships in Eugene and won the bronze medal there with a width of 56.36 m. In 2015 she reached sixth place at the Asian Championships in Wuhan with 51.66 m.

In 2018 she took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where she won the bronze medal with 57.43 m behind the Australian Dani Stevens and her compatriot Seema Antil . The following year she finished fourth at the Asian Championships in Doha with a throw of 57.47 m. At the beginning of December she won the South Asian Games in Kathmandu with a width of 49.85 m.

In 2015 Dhillon became Indian champion in discus throwing and in 2018 in the shot put.
