Nebenstedt is a district of the town of Dannenberg (Elbe) in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony, east of Dannenberg and belongs to the Elbtalaue community . State road 256 and district road 1 run through the town, along the edge of federal road 191 .

history

The discovery of the bracteates from Nebenstedt points to medieval traces .

On October 10, 1836, the place was completely burned down and then rebuilt from scratch. The main houses of the courtyards were lined up with two and four columns at the gable and at large intervals on both sides of the straightened country road. Nebenstedt can therefore be classified as a two-line street village today . There are still several hall houses from the reconstruction phase from 1837. Later there were significant local expansions to the north, including new development areas that currently extend to the B 191. An old dike runs south of the village, which served as a rear flood protection before the Jeetzel lowlands were redesigned in terms of water and dyke construction in the middle of the 20th century.

On July 1, 1972, Nebenstedt was incorporated into the city of Dannenberg (Elbe).
