Streetz is a district of the town of Dannenberg (Elbe) in the Elbtalaue municipality in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .

The village is located two kilometers northwest of the core area of Dannenberg at the transition between the Drawehn and the Jeetzel lowlands . The Streetzer Mühlenbach , a left tributary of the Jeetzel, flows on the western edge of the village . Landesstraße 231 runs through the village as a northern continuation of the B 248.

history

Originally, Streetz was a densely built up round . On the night of October 8th to 9th, 1767, there was a devastating major fire in which the village with all 13 main houses and numerous outbuildings was destroyed. The subsequent redevelopment was more relaxed; five farms were relocated up to 500 m from their previous location. Architecturally, two-, three- and four-column hall houses are represented. On the areas between the old location and the evacuated courtyards, local expansions were later built in spacious and irregular buildings.

On July 1, 1972, Streetz was incorporated into the city of Dannenberg (Elbe).
